DBN Swedes

The Mighty Swedes!!!

Another Project that has took years to take shape.

Mainly Minifigs.  The Light Infantry are a mixed bag of manufacturers.

Love those funky hats.

Some conversions to add a 'rustic' look.

Does anyone have any confirmed source, to what colour, Swedish Artillery pieces were painted?

The General....

Love the Cuirassiers,  I need to build some Light Cavalry now.

DBN Mahratta Wars

The 74th Highland Fusiliers
Another project, nearly there...  The Second Mahratta War, immortalized in Bernard Cromwells Sharpe's Triumph.  The Audiobooks are fantastic, if you have never listened to them, well do so!

I wanted the British troops to have the distinctive headwear from Ospreys Assaye book.  The old 'head' replacement trick was in order.  I had picked up a lot of Napoleonic Brits from the Durham Wargames show a few years ago.  These would be the guinea pigs, off with their heads & on with the new ones.   Obtained from the fantastic Peter Pig 15mm range . (Though I wish they would make a Napoleonic Heads range...come on Peter Pig!)

I'm happy with the results, though it's a bit odd as they are meant to be a Scottish Regiment.  Anyway, I've still got a lot of figures to paint, especially the East India company troops.  I will get round to them one day!

Strapping Scotsmen to spank the Mahrattas...

Not a skirt, sorry kilt in sight...lol

Officer, Colour party & Sergeant.

The Grenadiers

Honorable John Company Horse Artillery.

Lovely Boys...

WWWAAARRGGHH!
Look at this lot!
Mahratta Cavalry....

Sharp swords & pointy lances abound!

A mixture of many manufacturers.

Four distinct regiments

The mighty Tipu Sultan riding his elephant..
or as Sharpey would say "The Fat B******!"

The 74th advance!

Osprey's Assaye, a worthwhile addition to the library.

DBN Westphalians 1807-13

The Mighty Westphalian Army!
Another 15mm project, this time the Napoleonic Westphalian Army.  Built mostly from 'the odd figures from the scrap box'.  Still not complete, a few more figures are needed.  I'd collected a few Minifigs figures & posted them a few years back, the Westphalian Infantry Regiment with yellow facings.  A few months ago, I started reading through 'Napoleons Campaigns in Miniature', the author mentioned building his own Westphalian Army, so the light bulb lit up and....

In standard DBN terms, we've got 33 troop elements.  Or for Big Base DBN, 9 elements.  I love collecting 'old battered' figures, part paint jobs & starting from there.  I then start the re-paint... This project took a while to build, adding a few figures here & there.  Flags from the wonderful Warflag site.

Westphalian Heavy Cavalry Brigade

Both the 1st & 2nd Cuirassiers

One Big Base element.  Or  four standard elements.

Westphalian Light Cavalry Brigade

The 1st & 2nd Hussars

The figures are from a variety of sources.

King Jerome & the Royal Guard!
I will probably add some more Grenadiers or a couple of bases of those snazzy Jagers..

Light Infantry, I'll need to get some more & base them up for loose order.

Love the blue.green combo

Four regiments of Line Infantry

A lot of unloved Minifigs make up these troops

The 'original' Minifig yellow coated regiment that started it all...lol
