HITT WW1 British vs Germans - Big Push Part 2

Over the Top!
The British forces consist of three separate Battle Groups each headed by a Tank. The Reserve Battlegroup of Cavalry, Field Artillery & Armoured Cars will be activated and deployed once the 2nd Trench is reached.  They will then move forward for the 'Breakthrough'.  Support will come in the form of Airpower, the Dreaded Barrage, Heavy Artillery and Poison Gas.

The German force is split into three. The First Trench, static troops without a PiP roll, when they break they'll fall back to the Second Trench. The Second Trench, have more forces, with a PiP roll to adjust troops & counter the Dreaded Barrage OR call in the Fly Boys. The Reserve Force of Tanks, Troops and Cavalry will be activated once the Brits hit the Second Trench Line. They then get 2 PiP Rolls and can then move to the front.

Poison Gas is launched at the German Lines

The British creep forward

Plan of attack, Straight Ahead!

Target the Artillery & Machine Guns

In come the Fly Boys!  Ginger 'Hero of Palestine' is back,  French Ace 'Pierre Pascal' and Biggles.

Poison Gas, very effective on Artillery

Another turn and the Dreaded Barrage arrives!

Ginger & Pierre Pascal head for a Deep Strike mission.

Another casualty to the Poison Gas.

Overview after a few turns.

At last the British monster reaches the German trench

'Allez Allez' Pierre Pascal

No problems

Yikes! On the left German Artillery forces back the British Tank...

But the wire is down and the troops flood through

Go Ginger Go!

Pierre Pascal attacks the German Heavy Artillery positions.

So does Biggles!

On the right the Breakthrough is looking good.

The Poison Gas takes out one more German element before it disappears

Biggles Air Power!

Pierre Pascal is whooping away!

The Scottish Infantry force back the German Jaegers.

Ginger is 'Bob On' with his attack

German Reserves are activated, a '6' is rolled......

On comes the 'Vulture Squadron'... Dietmar Von Dastardly, Herman Boring and Manfred Mutley

Von Dastardly races for the British

So does Manfred Mutley

A small setback as the Brits are forced back..

Another Barrage is launched at the Germans

Give em the Steel Boys!!!

The British Tank is unstoppable!

British Assault Troops add to the action

Forward lads! On to the 2nd Trench...

Head to Head... Von Dastardly VERSUS Pierre Pascal & Biggles

The Horns of the Rohirrim... Whoops! Wrong Saga, the British Cavalry arrive.

Ah, Biggles, one of my childhood heroes (I've just seen a book [in ASDA] with a collection of Biggles stories - boy, was I tempted to buy it.)

By the way, is that German ace the evil...Dick Von Dastardly?
I only ask because I thought I could see a sniggering dog in the navigator's seat.

Great write-up Mr. F. I'm coming back for more.

Cheers Fellas! The game is going well for the Brits. Hordes in the Trenches is a nice little ruleset, it does capture what we aimed to do. Though we'll have to see if the Cavalry can find the GAP now!

cheers
