HITT Battle of the Yalu River

Japanese & Russian Cavalry clash on the Yalu River.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Yalu_River_(1904))

We've based this clash on the Battle of Yalu River, using the HITT rules the Japanese would try & force a crossing. Consequently we gave the Japanese 45 points (including the Dreaded Barrage). While the Russians had 25 points. The Russian positions would benefit from trenches & barbed wire. General JACKovski took the Russians while MRFamoto the screaming Japanese.

(I'm writing this while keeping one eye on the BIG Football match tonight BORO vs Newcastle...)

Good Game, Good Game, that flowed a lot better than our previous Jap/Russian game. Plus there was no need for the Barrage ( I didn't roll anything higher than a 4 for PiPs all night.) Lessons learnt, we felt that the Barbed Wire was placed too far from the trenches, next time right up close.....
Artillery performed slightly better, but still nothing great.

Oh dear, the BORO have just been stuffed by the Geordies in the BIG relegation Football battle... Guess it's relegation to the Championship for the Boro now..... :o(

War Illustrated Prints 1

A few prints from 'The War Illustrated' Volume One. A collection of Weekly Newspaper snippets, pictures & prints form World War One. The date when they appeared can be seen in the corner, 1914 for this lot. Obviously, a very one sided view of the War, doing it's best to beef up morale of the nation against the 'Horrible Hun'.... Given we've done two games of HITT, one based on Mons in the Western Front & the other a clash on the Eastern Front, these prints add to the theme.
