Fate of a Nation, Battlefront Rules again, this time covering the Arab Israeli Wars. A nice 'bridging' game between the 2nd World War & Team Yankee moderns.
'
1967, the Six Day War, Israeli forces pile into the Sinai. A Israeli Recon force rapidly approaches the strategic village of Kar' Amel Shake. An Egyptian force is already in residence, with nearby Egyptian Armor approaching.'
Another small 33 point game, again you get a lot of kit for 33 points, if you are the Egyptian's. EEerrr, let us say you don't for the Israeli's. I took Nasser's lads & SPAV took the Israeli's. I'll put the exact lists up later...
The Battlefield. Israeli Forces enter from the east. The Egyptians from the west. The two Wadis are impassible to vehicles. |
The Egyptian Scout force is already deployed in the village. |
View from the Israeli side. The AMX Tank Platoon is hull down on a ridge. |
The Egyptian Scout Platoon with BTR-50PK transports. |
BRDM Recce vehicles cover the other side of the village. |
We're Off! Israeli Jeeps & an AMX Platoon race up the road. |
The Israeli Mech Platoon parks up by the Wadi to unload the troops. |
Good start! The Israeli fire takes out two ZSU's. That will aid the air attacks to come. |
However the Amx Platoon only knocks out one T-34. |
The Egyptian turn... CHARGE!!!!! |
An Egyptian Mech Platoon in their 'Adams Family' BTR-152's, sets up shop in the village. |
T-34's on the other flank race to engage the AMX's. |
Poor rolls from the Egyptian's |
OOOOOhhh! One of the hull down AMX's is took out. |
End of turn 1. The Egyptians dominate the battlefield. |
TURN 2. Here comes the Israeli Air Force! |
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Only one T-34 taken out though. Israeli gunnery is also abysmal this turn. |
Good die rolling brings in the Egyptian Air force... Plus here come the big boys! |
The 'Adams Family' relocates to the hill... |
FORWARDS!!! |
T-34 vs AMX.... |
The Egyption Fresco is about to bomb the Infantry... |
..however withering fire from the Israeli half-tracks takes it out. |
AAarrr.... Could of done with that Air Strike. |
TURN 3. The Israeli Ouragan screams in.... |
The battle for the 'Pass' would be ferocious. |
The Israeli troops pour on the small arms fire. |
HA!!! SPAV's gurning again! The Ouragan is blown out of the sky by the ZSU's... He was counting on that plane for a lot of tank killing. |
Shoot & Scoot! |
Egyptian turn. Like a Sea of Locusts, the Egyptian Infantry swarm the hill. |
The Big Boys rumble on...... |
Oh Yes! A lovely fire support line... |
End of turn 3. The Egyptian Armor is taking a pounding, but not enough for SPAV's liking. |
With the BRDM's destroyed, the Israeli half-tracks set about suppressing the Egyptian Infantry. |
The AMX's just aren't destroying enough Egyptian Armor. |
One hit out four rolls.. Poor Israeli gunnery. |
However the Israeli jeeps with their recoiless rifles come up trumps. |
At last the Israeli Mortars start inflicting damage. |
The 'Adams Family' flank the Israeli Half-tracks. |
The remaining ZSU's take up good positions to lay fire on the Israeli Infantry. |
SPAV gurns once more, when he discovers the IS-3 front armor is 14.... The AMX's firepower is also 14, a lot of the shots may bounce. |
THIS IS IT!!! |
GGGGUUURNNNN! I am crying as I don't even hit a thing. |
However my remaining T-34 takes out another AMX. |
End of Turn 4 |
SUICIDE!!! The two remaining AMX's charge in for rear shots on the IS-3's....
...& BOTH MISS! |
The Egyptian turn, the ZSU's blow away the AMX's.... |
The Heroic Jeeps are obliterated by the IS-3's. |
'POP SMOKE & PEG IT LADS!!!!' The Israeli's throw in the towel. |
Kar' Amel Shake is still in Egyptian hands!!! |

Kar' Amel Shake?! And people say I inflict god-awful puns on the innocent souls around me...
In retaliation, the following is not a pun, but it's still one of my favorites:
Q. What's the difference between Donald Trump and the von Hindenburg?
A. One is a flaming Nazi gasbag; the other is a dirigible.
Informationally yours,
Chris
An enjoyable game report to read and I would imaging an enjoyable one to play. Always nice to see smoke and air support used in games.
That's crackin! Hope you both enjoyed the game.
Now then Chris
You should know my 'naming conventions' by now!
Nice one about 'The Don', however I fear you may now be on an 'automated retaliation list' somewhere..lol
All the Best

Hello Peter
A cracking little game, the 33 pointers push the limits every time for force selection. you have to make some tough choices just to get that extra firepower.
Cheers
