DBN Russians - Artillery 15mm

More Napoleonic Russians, this time the splendid Artillery.  The vast majority are from Lancashire Games again.  There's something about the green/red colour combination that makes them look fantastic (ggggrrr.. Blogger, COLOUR is spelled correctly...lol).  The Russians had Heavy & Light Foot Batteries.  Again like our French, 6 figures were used to make up a Heavy 12pdr battery.  4 figures for the Light Foot.  To finish off, we have some Russian Horse Artillery, the type with the Dragoon Helmet, again Lancashire Games.

DBN Russians - Cavalry 15mm

Here's some of the Napoleonic Russian Army that I've been building.  Got a few from Ebay, gave them a paint touch up & based them.  Some I've took from our existing Crimean War Russians & gave them a polish up.  The rest are mainly fresh buys from Lancashire Games, I like the look of them, they paint up well & have deep enough cuts to hold the 'miracle wash' I like to use.  Grass tufts from Warpainter.

DBN Guns & Rockets

Portuguese Artillery & British Rocket Troops.  Most of the figures from 15mm.co.uk Brickdust Range.  Limbers/guns/carts are based on 2 pence pieces.  I don't like big bases for these items, as they clutter the battlefield.

The RHA Rocket Cart set set is a nice item.  We added extra crew & horse. 

Painting 6mm Figures

Painting 6mm Napoleonics or as I call them 'eye sight destroyers'.   I'm currently trying to put the finishing touches to our 6mm Germany 1813 Armies.  We've got plans to run a big re-fight of Lutzen. At a recent show,  I bumped into someone who follows the blog & we got talking about painting 6mm.  Here's a simple step by step for painting & basing.

The figures are Heroics & Ros, with some Irregular.  These are French & Italian, Line & Light. The trick with the smaller scales is not paint fantastic individual figures.  Just good enough, so when they are put together 'en masse', the unit looks lovely.

I'll also 'touch up'  the figures closer to the edge of the base.
