Old Friends Reunited

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..... Well late 80's, early 90's, I used to play Games Workshops Epic Space Marine.  This was basically 6mm Sci-fi wargaming based in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.  Love or hate, Games Workshop products, you take your pick.  Anyway, I fell in love with 'Epic' scale, many hours collecting armies, painting, gaming.   The last time we played a game was back in 1994, the time my eldest daughter was born.

Obviously, one has to grow up & become responsible during such times....lol.   The vast majority of my gaming gear was placed in boxes & exiled to that place in the sky (the attic), oh the sadness.

2018, the present, the eldest two Fazzies return home from stints at University.  To make way for their gear, MrF & 'she who must be obeyed', make space, the attic being a target.  I find my 'old friends', the Space Marines (and many other games), queue the love once more.   I am now re-building armies, reading the old rules, painting Space Wolves & Ultramarines once more.   The games system itself has moved on two official editions, also an 'online' gamers edition is also out there.  There are tons of reading material, lore etc out on the Internet.  Games Workshop have also produced novels & audiobooks covering the 40K universe. The specific time period known as the 'Horus Heresy'.   Brilliant stuff, so guess what I have been downloading from Audible recently....  YouTube also has loads of videos covering the period.  I'll put some links up to some of the best stuff for those people who have never ventured into the 40K Universe.

Anyway, I introduced Spav to Epic Space Marine & like the mad gaming fiend he is, he has fallen to the Space Marines, Titans, Orks & Eldar.  Tons of d6's rolling across the battlefield, a really simple game system, that works really well.

Any way we've had a few games, below are some teaser pics & I'll write up the games in posts later...

'Warp Runners' Imperial Titan Legion

A Warlord class Titan of the 'Warp Runners'

Space Wolves & Emperors Children, Space Marines battle over an
Imperial Outpost during the Horus Heresy.

A Warhound class Scout Titan from the Deaths Head Traitor Legion charges into battle.

A Warhound from the 'Morning Star's' Imperial Titan Legion attacks the Emperor's Children Space Marines.

Traitor Warhound versus Space Wolves Dreadnoughts.

My beloved 'Space Wolves'.....
